Brandon Carl SEO (“I,” “me,” or “my”) operates brandoncarlseo.com. This policy explains what information I collect through this website and while working with clients, how I use it, and the choices you have.
By using this website, you agree to the practices described here. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site or submit your information.
Information I collect
Information you give me. When you fill out the contact form, I collect your first and last name, email address, phone number (optional) and your message. If you email me or become a client, I also collect what you choose to share, such as your business name, website, billing contact and project details.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, my hosting provider and analytics tools record standard technical data. This includes your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring website, pages viewed, time spent on pages, and approximate location (city or region, based on IP address).
Information I don’t want. Please don’t send sensitive information through the contact form, such as health details, Social Security numbers, or bank or card numbers. I don’t need it to respond to you.
How I use your information
- To respond to your inquiry and send proposals or quotes you ask for
- To provide, manage and bill for SEO services
- To understand how visitors use the site so I can improve it
- To keep the site secure and block spam and abuse
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce my agreements
I won’t add you to a marketing email list unless you ask to be added, and you can unsubscribe any time. I won’t send you text messages without your separate permission. I don’t use your information for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses Google Tag Manager to load measurement tools and [Google Analytics 4] to measure traffic. Google Analytics uses cookies to count visits and see which pages people view and how they found the site. I review this data in aggregate; I don’t use it to identify individual visitors.
Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services and opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies in their settings, though some site features may not work as expected.
This site does not currently use advertising or remarketing cookies. There is no common standard for browser “Do Not Track” signals, so the site does not respond to them.
How I share information
I do not sell or rent your personal information, and I don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. I share it only in these situations:
- Service providers that help me run the site and my business, such as website hosting (Hostinger), analytics (Google), email ([email provider]) and payment processing ([payment processor]). They may use your information only to provide their services to me.
- Legal reasons, when required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect my rights, property or safety, or that of others.
- Business transfers, if my business is merged, sold or reorganized, in which case your information would remain covered by a policy at least as protective as this one.
- With your permission, for any other purpose you agree to.
Client data and account access
SEO work usually means access to a client’s business accounts, so this section explains how I handle that information.
Account access. Clients often give me access to tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Business Profile, their website or CMS, and hosting or ad accounts. I use that access only to perform the services we’ve agreed on. I keep client data confidential and never use one client’s data for another client’s work.
Credentials. I ask for user-level access through each platform’s permission settings instead of shared passwords whenever possible. Any credentials I do receive are kept in an encrypted password manager. When our engagement ends, I remove my access on request, and I recommend clients also revoke it on their end.
Your customers’ information. Client accounts can contain personal information about the client’s own customers, such as reviews, form leads or call records. I handle that information only on the client’s behalf and under our service agreement. Each client is responsible for its own privacy notice to its customers.
SEO and AI tools. I use third-party tools such as [Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog] to analyze websites, keywords and search performance. These tools generally process URLs and aggregate data, not personal information. I may also use AI tools to help with research, analysis and drafting. I don’t enter clients’ customer data, passwords or other confidential credentials into AI tools, [and I use settings that prevent my inputs from being used to train AI models where available].
Results and case studies. I share a client’s name, results or testimonial publicly only with that client’s permission. Otherwise, any results I discuss are anonymized.
How long I keep information
I keep contact form inquiries for up to [two years] so I can follow up and keep a record of our conversation. Client records are kept for the length of our engagement and as long as needed afterward for tax, accounting and legal purposes. Google Analytics data is kept for [14 months]. When information is no longer needed, I delete or anonymize it.
Security
The site uses HTTPS encryption, and I take reasonable steps to protect the information I hold. No website or online service is completely secure, though, so I can’t guarantee absolute security.
Your rights and choices
You can ask me to:
- Tell you what personal information I have about you and give you a copy
- Correct information that’s inaccurate
- Delete your information, unless I need to keep it for legal or business recordkeeping reasons
- Stop sending you marketing emails
Depending on where you live, including California and other states with privacy laws, and the EU, UK or Canada, you may have additional rights. To make a request, contact me using the details below. I may need to verify your identity before acting on it, and I’ll respond within 45 days. You may use an authorized agent to make a request for you. I won’t treat you differently for exercising your privacy rights.
Children’s privacy
This site and my services are for businesses and adults. I don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent me information, contact me and I’ll delete it.
Visitors outside the United States
I’m based in the United States, and the site is hosted here. If you visit from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.
Links to other websites
This site may link to other websites and tools. I’m not responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their policies.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. When I do, I’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, I’ll also note them on the site.
